Quantifiable charts

For this exercise, we were tasked with arranging and organizing a set of items according to attributes. The items in question were either buttons of various sizes or Lego bricks of varying colors and shapes. The idea being to physically create a graph that consists of the items in question.

 Types of arrangement methods explored.

  Attributes of the blocks noted.

After exploring several methods of arranging the bricks, I decided to use the one shown below.

Arrangement Used.

This particular arrangement is done in the form of color versus variety density. That is to say, how dense is the varieties of shapes in a particular color range. The next step would be to draw the actual graph around the segments and label.

L.A.T.C.H. Poster

For this exercise,we were tasked with creating an infographic style poster with the theme of Pokemon and apply the L.A.T.C.H. principle we had learned about in a previous class. We were to choose four different Pokemon as well as decide on which generation of game we were going with for the project.

For my iteration, I decided to go with the recent Sword and Shield generation which features the Galar region as its map, in which I specifically focus on the area known as the Lake of Outrage. For the Pokemon themselves, I went with Slyveon, Morpeko, Corviknight, and Gyarados.

After picking out the Pokemons and deciding on the era and region, next came ideation for the composition of the poster. As we had to arrange it based on the L.A.T.C.H. principles, I experimented with a couple of game mechanics and factors in the Sword and Shield game. Those namely being the weather mechanic in which certain Pokemon only appear during certain weathers, the biomes as some Pokemon have better encounter chances in specific biomes, type affinity and evolutions.

Ultimately I decided on the hierarchy of weather appearance and biome area as the theme for arrangement. With a legend box for explaining icons. Said icons act as the hierarchy indication, where Pokemons with more icons are more commonly found.

AfterEffects Crash Course

In preparation for the animation work needed in the final project, we were also given an AfterEffects crash course to teach or refresh us on the basics of the program. Below are the results of the exercise.
